Around ten years ago I was asked by a local band if I would play bass for them. They knew I played guitar, but hadn’t done much gigging, but I had a really old, 3/4 scale bass around that I’d barely picked up. I wanted to gig more and was finding it difficult as a guitarist so I said I’d give it a go.
So began my love for 4 (and now 5) strings! After leaving that band, I found my true musical identity with the help of several people but most notably, Baker Street, Hot Rox, Moon Medicine to name just a few. I’ve been very lucky to work with some of the best drummers around including Matt Hobbs of The Heys, Mr "Jim Jim" Eddings and of course, Roy Baker who I have played with in many bands over the last 10 years.
I found an ad on www.swindonmusic.co.uk in the Spring of 2006 and answering it led me to an end-terrace house on Tennyson Street where I met a trio of extraordinary people. They needed a bass player… and The Knott was born. Creating music with these 3 guys is the easiest thing to do. Challenging, inspirational but above all, fun!
